Who are We?

Thinking Man Games is a group of rules writers with some specific goals in mind. We seek to bring games to the wargame market with an innovative and fun perspective on game design. 

  • We seek to create games that give players interesting decisions, we do not believe in games that are just an excuse to set up our pretty toys, we want strategic decisions.
  • We value diversity, in scales (both miniature and game scale) that is. From 2mm to 40mm, we want our games to be accessible to play with any miniatures you own. We like games from the skirmish level to the truly operational and seek to make games for a variety of game scales.
  • We will not be held back by “wargamerisms” that have long had a chokehold on the hobby. This means that we will not have a mechanic in our games simply because it is industry standard. We evaluate our mechanics based on efficiency, fun factor, and historical accuracy.
  • With our historical games, our primary goal is to put you in the shoes of your historical counterparts. We hope that you will come away from our games with a greater understanding of the challenges that leaders faced in the respective period. We seek to do this without compromising on fun and speed of play, so don’t worry about snooze-fest.
  • We realize that what we do is truly not realistic, but we still seek to find the best balance between ease of play and accuracy. All of our games seek to have as many mechanics as possible based in history, but we also will not compromise the accessibility and simplicity of our games.
